Mission Statement
Houston Montrose Lions Club is the first Lions Club in the world benefiting the greater LGBTQIA+ community, based right here in the historic Montrose Houston.
We believe that Women's right, Black and Brown rights, LGBTQIA+ rights are Human rights, I hope to be able to reach out to all platforms help those in need.
We do work very closely with the Houston Lady Lions because of our proximity and goals tend to be aimed in the same direction. But we are a different group and our main focus is on the LGBTQIA+ community.
We do, at the same time, work with the veterans in the community, and participate in donation giveaways, or whatever we can do to help.
We hope to be able to give those in the community a voice when theirs is not being heard. We are not only volunteers, but we are at the same time advocates.
The Lions Club is a family. The Houston Montrose Lions Club is also a family, and we need more members who are ready and willing to make a difference in the community.
We are also hoping to be able to act as a resource for those who need changes to their state documents to update their names and gender markers in the Transgender Community.
Long Term Goals
We are hoping to be able to set up a place for homeless members of the LGBTQIA+ community so that they will have a roof over their heads and basic necessities.
We are hoping to be able to reach out to youth who have been kicked out of their homes by their parents, and to provide them with not only a home, but access to education, community service, and career training.
For those looking to get transgender related treatment, we hope to be able to be a resource helping those people get the care they need.
